Out of their disdain of Daniel, the convinced the king to pass a law that forbade anyone from requesting anything from any god for thirty days. Soon after, Daniel was arrested for praying to God. As his punishment, Daniel was cast into a den of lions overnight. However, as God favored Daniel, he sent an angel to shut the lions’ jaws. The following day, the king hurried to check on Daniel and found him unharmed. The king praised Daniel and punished his wrongdoer by throwing them and their families into the den of lions.
